After the Rain

Raindrops keep falling on my head......... sings this little snowdrop in my garden.

Yesterday was the begining of British Summer Time when our clocks spring forward 1 hour.  Today we are preparing for winter again as we have yet more snow forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.  I think Spring is on hold again.

So it might not be raindrops falling this week but "snow" drops!

We have more snow forecast too! Up to eight inches, they say! At least your pretty little snowdrop is a tough flower and should come through unscathed!

Beautiful shot, by the way. All those crystal drops! Lovely.

What a disappointing start to the season, snow in the forecast. Weird, but we moved our clocks forward a few weeks ago. I thought the whole world, the places that mess around with time, did it at the same time ? I used to live a 4 hour drive North of here In a place called the BC Peace. We never had daylight saving time. It's a much more sensible way to live, I think .

Your shots are lovely! I did a photo like this last week. Snowdrops make me happy whether they're in sun, rain, or even (gasp) snow, like they were on the weekend.

That's gorgeous macro shot! I love raindrops on flower. Hope the snow won't last too long on the ground..

It seems our spring is taking a brief pause too, after a couple of gloriously sunny weeks, the rain has returned. However, your snowdrops will appreciate the water, as will our plants too.

This is really a very beautiful picture. I would use it for Gardening Gone Wild's photo contest whenever it fits that month's theme :-)

Hello Rosie, stunningly beautiful photo! Yes, Spring is being delayed a bit; guess it will let us know when. Mid-60 degrees F here on Saturday and tonight freezing temperatures, so all my little vegetables in my raised beds are now covered. I hope you have a blessed Easter season.

Rosie, what a gorgeous photo of the Snowdrops, and with a perfect depth of field! What kind of macro lens did you use? I have a 100mm for my Canon digital Rebel XT. I still have much to learn about taking really good flower photos. I recently enrolled in a series of photography classes to help me make sense of my languishing camera manual (a minimally useful and generally incomprehensible booklet for the average photographer), but am always looking for helpful hints from more experienced hands.

Thankyou everyone for your comments - thankfully we just had a little sleet and rain but cars passed me on the road nearby with 5 inches of snow on their roofs - we got of lightly here compared to surrounding areas.

@camissonia I'm no expert on cameras at all - I only took mine off automatic last November. I have read my manual twice and it still is double dutch to me in the 2nd half of it. I have a finepix fujifilm s8100. My photographer friend has told me that the camera does nearly everything an SLR does but without changing lenses - the camera does that automatically. I take alot of my closeups in super macro which means that the lens is nearly touching the subject. Sometimes with a tripod and anti shake active on the camera. I've been told the best way is to take the photo on the tripod but use the timer facility so that there is even less shake when the photo is taken. Hope that helps. I too would love to go on a photography course.
